La skin injury surgery, or dermatosurgery, includes all surgical procedures that treat cutaneous and subcutaneous lesions of all types.
Here are a few cases where dermatosurgery may be indicated:
→ Mole or “nævus”
→ Lipomas (fatty benign tumor)
→ Angiomas (vascular benign tumor)
→ Sebaceous cysts
→ Malignant melanomas
→ Basal cell or squamous cell epitheliomas
A dermatosurgical procedure consists in remove a cutaneous or subcutaneous lesion. In the case of a malignant lesion (malignant melanoma for example), a safety margin is achieved. That is to say that the surgeon cutting wide, it removes the lesion as well as a portion of surrounding healthy skin to avoid leaving tumor residues that could cause recurrence.
After removing the lesion, the surgeon makes a simple suture to close the wound. Sometimes a Lambeau cutaneous must be grafted to cover the wound left after extensive excision (bulky lesion).
The removed lesion will be systematically sent to the laboratory for review histological so as never to miss out on a malignant pathology.

Most often local anesthesia with intravenous sedation. Sometimes, in the case of a long or complex operation (tumor of large volume, sensitive site, etc.), general anesthesia is necessary.
It is extremely variable depending on the complexity of the intervention.
Usually on an outpatient basis. Hospitalization for one to a few days may be necessary in some cases.
Depends on the type of lesion removed. Sometimes a simple suture is enough to close the skin after removing a small lesion. Sometimes, in the case of excision of a major lesion, a skin graft is necessary (skin flap taken from another area of the patient's body).
Local signs such as swelling, bruising, or mild pain may occur during the first few days.
It is generally very fast. Some major skin lesions require a longer recovery period.

La skin surgery (dermatosurgery or skin surgery) is practiced for cases of skin lesions that it is desirable to withdraw, as well as for cases of ugly scars or an unusual appearance requiring surgery.

It is possible to use the Urgotouch laser immediately after surgery to promote the attenuation of scars.
The procedure is almost always performed under local anesthesia on an outpatient basis.
Generally short and can last 15 to 60 minutes.
Dermosurgery can be performed on an outpatient basis.
Depending on the lesion to be treated. The removal of a cyst, an unaesthetic nevus, or a benign tumor lesion as malignant.
The scar atrophies over time, and it is important to protect it from the sun for a year.
These are usually procedures that are not very painful. Easily taken care of by the usual painkillers.
As with all procedures, there are risks and complications can occur (bleeding, infection, disunity, scarring hazards, etc.). These are infrequent and can be taken care of quickly by the surgeon during post-operative checks. An information sheet from the French Society of Plastic Surgery will be given to you before the procedure.
My approach is initially to listen to patients in order to determine if their expectations are realistic and achievable and if the risk-benefit ratio is in favor of an intervention.
