What is a Brazilian Butt Lift?
A Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), or buttock augmentation by fat grafting, is a procedure that increases the volume and improves the shape of the buttocks using the patient's own fat.
It combines two steps: liposuction of areas with excess fat (hips, abdomen, thighs, etc.), then reinjection of this fat into the buttocks after it has been processed and purified by centrifugation.
No foreign material is introduced into the body. For safety reasons, the fat is injected only into the subcutaneous layer, never into the muscle.
How does the procedure work?
The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is performed with autologous fat, i.e. the patient's own fat, provided there are enough fatty areas to harvest (saddlebags, abdomen, love handles, knees, thighs). The fat harvested by liposuction is purified and then injected subcutaneously into the buttocks.
The first step is liposuction of the areas with excess fat. This redefines the curve of the buttocks while sculpting the hips (liposuction of the love handles) to harmonize the figure. Liposuction of the saddlebags, inner knees and thighs can be performed during the same operation for a combined effect on the figure.
In some cases, if the buttocks sag significantly, a buttock lift can be combined to correct major buttock ptosis, particularly after significant weight loss following bariatric surgery.
What is the recovery like?
Scars
Small scars correspond to the cannula entry points; they are placed in discreet areas whenever possible.
Post-operative course
Bruising and swelling may appear after the procedure. The first post-operative days are slightly painful, but pain is well relieved by painkillers. The liposuction areas are often more painful than the buttocks.
Walking is uncomfortable for the first few days after the procedure.
Patients are advised to sleep on their stomach or on their side.
A daily shower is recommended from the day after the procedure.
Recovery
It is advisable to avoid intense physical exertion for 2 to 3 weeks and to follow the surgeon's recommendations for local care.

The volume and shape of the buttocks are improved, and the figure is harmonized thanks to liposuction of the harvest areas.

Once the graft has taken, the result is long-lasting; the size of the buttocks will change with variations in your own body fat.
How much does it cost?
From €5,950 – the price depends on the number of areas to be treated by liposuction and the amount of fat to be reinjected into the buttocks.
A detailed quote is given after the consultation. For a cosmetic procedure, French law requires a cooling-off period of at least 15 days between the quote and the surgery.
FAQ
The scars are small: they correspond to the entry points of the cannulas used to harvest and reinject the fat, and are placed in discreet areas whenever possible. They fade over time.
The Urgotouch laser can be used immediately after surgery to help scars fade.

Like any surgical procedure, a BBL carries risks, although rare, such as infection, irregularities or asymmetry.
