What is breast lipofilling?
Breast augmentation by fat grafting (lipomodelling), performed by Dr Maxence Thomas at the Clinique Esthétique Aquitaine in Bordeaux, is a method for slightly increasing breast volume using one's own fatty tissue.
Unlike breast implants, this technique does not introduce any foreign material into the body. The fat is harvested by liposuction from areas where it is abundant, such as the hips, abdomen or thighs. Once processed and purified, it is reinjected into the breasts to increase their volume.
However, the increase obtained is generally modest, as a fraction of the transferred fat can be eliminated by the body (about 30% on average). A second procedure may be required to achieve the desired volume.
How does the procedure work?
The main advantage of lipofilling is that it uses the patient's own tissue, making the breasts as natural as possible.
Breast augmentation by lipofilling uses your own fat to increase breast volume harmoniously, with a natural result. It can also correct an asymmetry.
Once the graft has taken, the result is long-lasting, and breast volume changes with variations in your own body fat.
This technique increases breast volume with almost no visible scars.
The main drawback is that the volume increase is generally smaller than with implants, and the round shape obtained with an implant cannot be achieved.
What is the recovery like?

Bruising and swelling may appear after the procedure. Breast pain is fairly mild; the liposuction areas are often more painful.

Intense physical exertion should be avoided for 2 weeks, and the surgeon's recommendations for local care should be followed.
What results can you expect?
The final result of breast lipofilling is usually seen between 3 and 6 months. Although the result is stable and long-lasting, it is essential to maintain a healthy lifestyle and a stable weight.
An additional benefit of lipofilling is a slimmer figure thanks to the associated liposuction.
